About the Challenge

Where do I expect to be by the end of this challenge?

By the end of this challenge, you will:

1. Be able to make simple sentences in all the A1 topics (talk about yourself, work, family, city; ask for and tell time, ask for and give directions, etc.).

2. Be able to read, write, and type in Arabic Script.

3. be able to use 25 must-know verbs in Egyptian Arabic and conjugate them in the present tense (singular pronouns).

4. Learn a total of 300 vocabulary words.

5. Learn the most important grammar and pronunciation rules in Egyptian Arabic.

Is this a live or prerecorded course?

It’s mainly a prerecorded course, but we meet once a week during the 30 days to review, drill, and answer your questions.

What's the structure of this challenge?

Each day (lesson) consists of:

- a set of videos that go over different aspects of the lesson (a PDF file consisting of around 5-7 sentences).

- a set of audio recordings of the sentences at three different speeds for you to practice with me.

- Exercises that cover speaking, listening, reading, writing, typing, grammar, and pronunciation.

Why should I enroll in this challenge?

Having taught Egyptian Arabic for over six years, I made sure the course must have the following

1. Speaking from day 1

2. Learning from real life sentences rather than just lists and lists of words

3. Learning from both Arabic Script and phonemic transcription at the same time and mastering Arabic Script as we go. This is better than focusing on one of the two aspects individually leaving you either with lots of theory and dependency on reading, or with lots of speaking and words that lack a lot of correctness because you just learned from by speaking. We’re adults, and we have to see a word to be able to properly learn it.

4. All the sentences that you learn can be used now. No more unnecessary vocabulary and sentences. Just stuff relevant to the level of an absolute beginner.

5. Each day has a reasonable and realist amount of vocabulary that can be learned in one day (7-15 words per da

1. For students who have absolute no prior knowledge of Egyptian Arabic

2. For students who already have a solid foundation or even advanced in a different variety of Arabic (such as FusHa), but want to start with a solid foundation in Egyptian Arabic.

How long should it take me to finish the Egyptian Arabic 30-Day Challenge for Absolute Beginners?

Ultimately, you should do it in 30 days (1-2 hours daily). But if that’s not possible, I recommend doing it within no longer than 3 months.

When do I lose access to this challenge?

Never. You get a lifetime access.
